Vikings Roll In Win Over Orangetown
11/01/09
The Mitey-Mite Vikings traveled to Orangetown on to face the Patriots on 11/1. Good defense and a balanced offensive attack lead to a convincing 20-0 victory.
The Vikings opened the game with a string drive featuring Jarod Baron and Jaylin Mcghee running the ball. Baron would end the drive with a 25 yard run off-tackle to give the Vikings a fast 6-0 lead.
On the ensuing possession, the Viking defense would hold the Orangetown offense thanks to Drew Tommarello, Jordan Forrest, Jake Tommarello, and Jarrett Haines. The two teams battled for field position for the remainder of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Jordan Forrest ran up the middle of the Patriot defense for a 35 yard gain to the Patriot five yard line. However the run was called back due to a penalty. Tommarello would then hold for kicker Jordan Forrest on the successful PAT for a 14-0 Viking lead at halftime.
