Vikings Defeat
Eastchester 1
10/25/09
On Sunday 10/25/09 the Vikings hosted Eastchester for their final home game of the season. After a slow start the Vikings pulled away with a strong defensive victory.
The two teams exchanged possession in the first series of action.
On the Vikings second possession Jaylin McGhee ran off tackle for a 55 yard touchdown. Viking Jake Tommarello would hold for the Jordan Forrest extra point kick and the Vikings would take an 8-0 lead.
The Viking offense went back to work as the running of Christopher “Mush ‘em” White positioned the ball inside of the eight yard line. However, the Viking offense was unable to score and the teams went to halftime with the 8-0 score.
The third quarter was dominated by the Viking defensive play of Aiden Lilly, Drew Tommarello, Richard Reiman, Mekhi Benjamin, Jarett Haines, Billy Hollis-Ragin, Kenneth Collins and Tijier Moreno.
After shutting down the Eastchester offense, the Viking offense came alive in the fourth quarter. Drew Tommarello gave the Vikings great field position with an interception at the Eastchester thirty yard line yard line. Quarterback Jordan Lewis then ran the ball down to the three yard line and then Lewis followed with the touchdown run. Jordan Forrest kicked his second extra point of the day to close the game scoring at 16-0.
Other Vikings who played well included Jonathan Richards, Daron Long, Sincere Thomas, Michael Reedy, Perron Gregory, Omari Walker, Liam Vanderberg, Rahim Rooney, Joel Cooper, Corey Baron, Gabriel Ford, Cervantes Wilson, and Javon Walker.
