Vikings Fight Against North Rockland
9/30/07
The Mitey Mite Vikings came to play again on Sunday against a tough North Rockland Red raider team.
The Red Raiders opened the day on the third play from scrimmage with a long touchdown down the left side to take a fast 6-0 lead.
The two teams then settled down and excvhanged field position. The Red Raiders then added two more scores in the second quarter. The backfield of Marquez Jackson(42), Ray Miller(9), Marlon Riley(19), Myson Robinson(25) and Tiason Moreno(22) moved the football effectively but were unable to score in the first half.
In teh second hale the Vikings came out and began fighting back. A Raymond Miller 45 yard touchdown jaunt closed the lead for the Vikings. A turnover on the ensuing drive by the Red Raiders gave the Vikings the ball deep in North Rocklnad territory. The Vikings had the chance to cloe the score to a one touchdown lead but they were unable to convert a fourth down inside of the Red raider 15 yard line. Teh Red Raiders then added another scroing drive in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Marquez Jackson(42) was dominating on defense in helping hold Orangetown scoreless. Joshua Watts(10), Ty'saan Towns (66), Dallas Walker(52), and Narenzo Kershaw(19) were other Vikings who played well.
