Vikings Fight in Exciting Game
9/23/07

Spring Valley scored around left end with a 50 yard score and a quick lead. The Vikings fought back behind the strong running of Ray Miller(9), Myson Robinson(25) and Christian Ancrum(51). Miller(9) ended a strong offensive drive with a touchdown run and then he added the extra point to give the Vikings the lead. The remainder of the half was determined by good defense from both teams, with neither team scoring again. Good defensive efforts by Ancrum(51) with multiple sacks, Miller(9) and Rashan Sullins(98) (sack) helped the Vikings hold Valley Cottage. Valley Cottage came out in the second half determined to drive the ball and steadily moved the ball downfield against the Vikings. The Vikings defense stiffened and eventually stopped the Valley Cottage offense on fourth down on their own 15 yard line. As the game went on it became more intense on the field and in the stands as the Vikings held on to a one point lead. However, Valley Cottage was able to mount a final offensive drive and score on a 7 yard run in the closing minute of play.

Strong running by Joshua Watts(10), Robinson(25) and Romeo Holden(27) helped the Vikings in this game. Others who played well were Marlon Riley(17), Justin Romero(92), Ty'saan Towns(66), Jahkim McCain(49), Marquez Jackson(42), and Michael Davis(21).
