Vikings Breakthrough 9/9/07
Many of the 2007 players who were with the Vikings during a tough 2006 season jumped for joy when the horn sounded as the final result finally reflected the hard work they have been putting in. The Vikings showed marked improvement in moving the football on offense and also showed toughness on defense. They began the game with strong running by Raymond Miller(9) and Myson Robinson(25). This week the Vikings also added tough inside running by Christian Ancrum(51). A fumble ended the Vikings first successful drive but Robinson(25) came back in the second quarter with a 45 yard sprint to the Orangetown end-zone. The remainder of the game was a battle for field position as Orangetown came close to breaking free for a tying touchdown. However, the Viking defense clamped down on both occasions.
Marquez Jackson(42) was dominating on defense in helping hold Orangetown scoreless. Joshua Watts(10), Ty'saan Towns (66), Dallas Walker(52), and Narenzo Kershaw(19) were other Vikings who played well.
