11/11/07
On Sunday the T-Bolts traveled to Eastchester to play the Blue Devils. Somehow, due to scheduling conflicts, these two teams had not played this season, and this game would be a good test for the T-Bolts.
The T-Bolts began the game by moving the ball downfield with the help of runs by Jihad Brogdon(3). Donovan Powell(9) ended the drive with a short blast off of right tackle for a touchdown. Joe Clarke(6) added the extra point. Eastchester responded on their next offensive possession with a 65 yard run to the 10 yard line. Malik Smith(34) gave a great effort by chasing down the Eastchester runner, pushing him out on the five yard line. After the teams traded fumbles on the five yard line, Eastchester scored on a short run and closed the score to 7-6.
On the T-bolt's next offensive possession, Gavin Harley(24) helped the T-Bolts extend their lead by dashing 60 yards before being pushed out of bounds on the 10 yard line. Jihad Brogdon(3) then blasted through on the series to give the T-Bolts a 13-6 lead at halftime.
In the second half Malik Smith(34) helped the T-Bolts cause when he intercepted a Blue Devil pass and returned it to the 25 yard line. Quarterback Joe Clarke(6) then passed to receiver Justin Cox(40) for a twenty yard gain to the 5 yard line. Clarke(6) ended the drive with a short touchdown run. After a T-bolt defensive stop, Smith(34) took control of the game with hard running through the Blue Devil defense. The drive, featuring Malik Smith(34) and jonathan Forrest(21), led to a three yard off tackle touchdown by CJ Anthony and a 26-6 T-Bolt lead. the Blue Devils added a 50 yard touchdown in the closing minutes to end the scoring.
Other T-Bolt's who played well in this game were Anthony Battle(75), Rakim Parker(71), Tyriek Kerr(1), John Tomarello(10), Keimon Barrow(14), Corey Holder(27), Brandon Trotta(53), Sam Schwarz(60), and Wjhante Holden(42).
For the 2007 season, game articles, photos and possible video will be posted mid-week following Sunday's games. Stay tuned.
