T-Bolts Roll to 28-0 Win vs Monroe-Woodbury
11/08/09
In a battle of the purple and white the T-bolts came out with the win versus Monroe-Woodbury. As both teams started to weigh in it was evident that this was going to be a confusing game due to the fact that both teams were wearing white jerseys.
Once the game started, the teams settled in after exchanging possessions in the first quarter. The T-bolt offense began to move downfield thanks to the power running of Gregory Powell. A Danny Pistolesi pass to Dean Tommarello positioned the ball inside of the Monroe-Woodbury twenty yard line. After a two T-bolt runs, fullback Marquez Jackson-Allen followed Daniel Williams, Mike Davis and Bryce Davis blocking for a 5 yard touchdown.
Early in the second quarter the T-bolt defense would add to the score when Allen-Jackson, now playing linebacker, intercepted a Monroe-Woodbury pass and returned it 35 yards for his second touchdown of the day. Antoine Lewis extra point kick was successful and the T-bolts lead 14-0.
Another T-bolt defensive stop lead by Myson Robinson, Kobe Gathers and Rashan Gilmore forced a Crusader punt. Vaughn Howard returned the punt 30 yards inside of the Crusader 40 yard line. Dwayne Edney-White then sprinted the rest away to the end-zone on the next play. Due to a penalty the touchdown was called back and the T-bolts went to the half leading 14-0. In the third quarter the T-bolts pulled away in the third quarter with Rashan Gilmore and Gregory Powell running the clock out. Early in the fourth quarter Danny Pistolesi found Gilmore in the flat for a 25 yard catch and run with Gilmore diving into the end-zone for a 20-0 T-bolt lead.
Late in the fourth quarter safety Dean Tommarello intercepted a Crusader pass attempt and returned it twenty yards to setup the last T-bolt score. Jordan Davis ended the scoring run on a sweep to the left from 20 yards out. Antoine Lewis kicked his second PAT of the day for the final score.
Other T-bolts who play well included Gabriel Perez, Sincere Savoy, Gavin Nelson, Haitam Coughlin, Steavenson Fernand, Marcus Wallace, Jeremiah Harris, Kasiem Mann, Xavier Goodman, Habib Dixon-King, Mikaiel Ebanks and Isaiah Washington.
