T-Bolts Win Going Away 20-0
10/25/09
The T-bolts returned home on 10/25/09 to face the Pee Wee New City Rams, winning 20-0 thanks to another strong defensive effort.
The T-bolt offense began the game with the power running of Gregory Powell. Danny Pistolesi and Dean Tommarello assisted on the drive with outside runs that moved the T-bolts to the New City 10 yard line. The T-bolts didn’t score but their defense, lead buy Marquez Jackson-Allen, Jordan Davis and Tommarello stopped the New City offense. On the fourth down, the New City punter mishandled the snap and was tackled inside of the twenty yard line by the T-bolts.
After more power running, Gregory Powell scored from four yards away. Powell also ran in the extra point to give the T-bolts a 7-0 lead. On the ensuing kickoff the New City returner ran the ball back to the T-bolt 25 yard line. The T-bolt defense of Myson Robinson, Kobe Gathers and Rashan Gilmore helped stop the New City threat and the T-bolts took a 7-0 lead into halftime.
The game took on a lull in the third quarter as both teams battled one another for field position. Late in the quarter the T-bolts offense marched downfield. Quarterback Dwayne White-Edney lead the way with the short passing game and Vaughn Howard lead the way on the ground. Howard ended the drive with a six yard touchdown run. Dean Tommarello added the extra point run and the t-bolts took a 14-0 lead into the fourth quarter.
The last T-bolt offensive possession turned into the Dean Tommarello show as he ran for 35 yards around left end. He then caught a one handed pass from quarterback Danny Pistolesi for another gain. Tommarello ended the drive with a sprint into the corner of the end-zone. The extra point run was no good and the T-bolts played out the remainder of game for the 20-0 victory.
Other T-bolts who played well included Daniel Williams, Bryce Davis, Jahkim Mckain, Gavin Nelson, Mike Davis, Haitam Coughlin, Joseph Phillips, Xavier Goodman, Mikael Ebanks, Habib Dixon-King, and Gabriel Perez.
