T-BOLTs Strike Against New City, Win 38-7 10/19/08
On Sunday 10/19/08 the T-bolts returned to action after a tough one point defeat the week before. This week the T-bolts left nothing to chance against New City.
New City came out firing. On the second offensive play of the game they threw a 58 yard pass for a touchdown to take a quick 7-0 lead.
On the next offensive series T-Bolt Damarcus Miller looked to answer New City when he ran 50 yards around the blocks of Jevon Taylor and Jordan Luzzi for a touchdown. However, the touchdown was called back due to a holding call. After the penalty the T-Bolts offense kept attacking. Quarterback Tyler Fernandez lead teh way when he ran the ball down to the New City 10 yard line before passing to Antoine Lewis for a touchdown on the next play. Miller ran in the extra point to tie the game at 7-7.
The T-bolt defense, lead by Charlie Verni, Rakim Parker, Jonathan Forrest, Jonathan Yudell, Brandon Trotta, and Bryson Hayes, quickly gave the ball back to the offense by forcing a punt. The T-bolt offense then went back to work. Quarterback Tyler Fernandez passed to a streaking Antoine Lewis who ran the ball in from 70 yards for his second touchdown catch of the game.
New City was unable to move the ball on their next series and they were forced to punt. Tyler Fernandez then passed to Rakim Parker for a 20 yard gain to put the T-bolts in New City territory. Fernandez then dropped back to pass before being flushed out of the pocket while passing and scrambled down the right sideline on his way to a 48 yard touchdown. The T-bolts took a 20-7 lead into halftime.
The second half saw the T-bolts pull away from the Rams as Nasir Shelton (65 yard touchdown) added a touchdown in the third quarter and T-bolts Damarcus Miller (18 yard touchdown) and Jonathan Forrest (3 yard touchdown) added scores in the fourth quarter for the final 38-7 total.
Other T-bolts who played well were Kiemon Barrow, CJ Anthony, Ryan Gil, Jordan Luzzi, William Bloom, Jevon Taylor, Spencer Pressley and Daniel Williams.
