T-Bolt's Fall 18-7
10/7/07
On Sunday, the T-Bolts traveled to Bergen for a Pee Wee quarter-final playoff game against Bergen County. Bergen came out prepared, scoring on their first two offensive possessions, and taking a quick 12-0 lead. The T-Bolts defense then closed down the Bergen offense for the rest of the half with dominating defense. Late in the second quarter, Donovan Powell(9) took matters into his own hands, hauling in a 50 yard pass from quarterback Joe Clarke for the T-Bolt first score.
Down 12-6, the T-Bolts defense, led by Gavin Harley(21) and Jonathan Forrest(21) got the ball back for their offense. T-Bolt running back Malik Smith(34) re-entered the game after an early game injury and ripped off a 40 yard gain to the Bergen 20. However, the T-Bolt attempt to tie the game before halftime ended with an offensive interception.
The T-Bolts seemed ready to take over the second half but
Bergen recovered their onside kick attempt on the T-Bolt 40. The defense was unable to hold Bergen on the drive and they scored, pulling away to a 18-6 lead which held throughout the third quarter. The T-Bolt’s had strong running by Gavin Harley(24), Tyreik Kerr(1), Malik Smith(34) and Jihad Brodgen(3), but they were unable to sustain a scoring drives. Bergen added a final score late in the fourth quarter for the final result.
Other T-Bolts who played well included Wijante Holden(onside kick recovery), Jordan Lawrence(25), Rakim Parker(71), Sam Schwarz(60) and Justin Cox(40).,
