T-Bolts Fall to eastchester 19-6 10/05/08
On Sunday 10/5/08 The T-bolts traveled to Eastchester to take on the Blue Devils in a rivalry that dates back to the 1960's.
The game started with Eastchester returning the kickoff with good field position. They were able to mount an offensive drive that lead to a touchdown against the T-bolts.
Late in the first quarter a Antoine Lewis fumble recovery gave the ball to the T-bolts in Eastchester territory. Bryson Hayes and Damarcus Miller put together good runs to put the ball within the Eastchester 10 yard line. However the offense was unable to score and turned the ball over on downs. On offense, Eastchester then drove up-field until T-bolt Safety Keimon Barrow intercepted a pass at the Eastchester 40 yard line. Jonathan Forrest blasted up the middle behind Brandon Trotta and Jonathan Yudell blocks runs that helped the T-bolts to the Eastchester four yard line just before halftime. But with under a minute left in the half a bad exchange on the center snap caused a T-bolt fumble that was recovered by Eastchester. The Blue Devils took a 6-0 lead into the half.
The T-bolts came out in the third quarter with quarterback Nasir Shelton running the offense. Tailback Keimon Barrow then burst off of the right guard and eluded three Blue Devils on his way to a 59 yard tying touchdown. The Rakim Parker extra point kick traveled wide.
In the fourth quarter the T-bolts offense moved ball to the Eastchester thirty yard line before turning ball over on downs. Eastchester then drove the length of the field, helped by a Blue Devil receiver hauling in a pass for a long gain. Eastchester would score on the drive to take the lead 12-6. The extra point kick was blocked by T-bolt Tyler Fernandez.
With the game clock under four minutes in fourth quarter the T-bolts began with the ball on their own 25 yard line. A ten yard penalty pushed the offense back to the fifteen, making it first and twenty. Eastchester applied pressure and either sacked quarterback Tyler Fernandez or forced incomplete passes. The T-bolts turned over the ball over to Eastchester on downs at their own 14 yard line. One play later Eastchester pushed in four the final score in the 19-6 contest that was closer than the final score.
