T-Bolt's Fall 24-6
9/30/07
On Sunday 9/30/07 The T-Bolts faced another formidable opponent in the North Rockland Red Raiders. Despite a strong effort, turnovers and penalties in key situations led to the T-Bolts dropping their second consecutive game.
The game opened with the T-Bolts relying on the strong running of Gavin Harley and Malik Smith. The T-Bolt offense stalled in Red Raider territory. North Rockland then quickly moved the ball downfield with passing strikes. The Red raider offense punched it in from 30 yards when a back broke away and outran the T-Bolt secondary.
Donovan Powell took the game into his own hands when he took a short pass form Quarterback Joe Clarke and weaved his way down the right sideline for a 80 yard touchdown. Unfortunately the spectacular touchdown was called back due to holding. The Red raiders were able to shut down the T-Bolt running game, forcing them to throw the ball more than they wanted to. Powell and Clarke were later able to connect on another long touchdown pass, which closed the score to 18-6 in the third quarter. In an attempt to comeback The T-Bolts fourth down conversion failed in Red Raider territory with six minutes left, and the Red Raiders added a final touchdown in a hard fought game.
Other T-Bolt's who played well in this game were Rakim Parker(71), Tyriek Kerr(1), John Tomarello(10), Keimon Barrow(14), Jonathan Forrest(21), Corey Holder(27), Brandon Trotta(53), Sam Schwarz(60), Anthony Battle(75), and Wjhante Holden(42).
For the 2007 season, game articles, photos and possible video will be posted mid-week following Sunday's games. Stay tuned.
