T-Bolts Dominate 31-8
9/21/08

The T-bolts traveled to Monroe –Woodbury on 9/21/08 and came away with a dominant 31-8 victory. From the opening kickoff the T-bolts were ready to play as Tyler Fernandez scooped up the opening  ‘squib’ kickoff and weaved 58 yards to the 2 yard line. Fernandez then followed center Jonathan Yudell into the end-zone on a quarterback keeper.

Monroe –Woodbury attempted to respond to the T-bolt quick score when their quarterback darted 37 yards for a tying TD. But the touchdown was called back due to penalty. The penalty was significant because it became was the last real scoring threat for the Crusaders.

Jonathan Forrest, Bryson Hayes and Damarcus Miller then took control of the T-Bolt offense with power their running. The offensive drive ended with a Tyler Fernandez to Rakim Parker 30 yard touchdown pass, catch and run to extend the T-Bolt lead to 12-0.

Late in the second quarter the Crusaders fumbled a punt attempt deep in their own territory that was recovered by the T-bolt defense. Damarcus Miller extended the lead to 18-0 with a  swift dash into the end-zone.

The second half began with more hard hitting and good defense led by the hitting of Miller, Jordan Luzzi, Jonathan yudell, Charles Anthony, and Keimon Barrow. On offense, Barrow got into the scoring act with a nifty 30 yard off tackle blast into the end-zone.

In the fourth quarter, the Crusaders defense got into the scoring column when they picked up a T-bolt fumble and returned it 60 yards to pay dirt.

Once the T-bolts got the ball back, halfback Jonathan Forrest added to the T-bolt lead with a sprint around left end for a 50 yard touchdown. But due to a holding this touchdown was called back. After the penalty was added, Forrest came back with a 30 yard blast. Tyler Fernandez then closed the T-Bolt scoring by throwing a dart of a pass to receiver Antoine Lewis who streaked into the end-zone.

Other T-bolts who played well were Brandon Trotta, Jevon Taylor, Ryan Gil, Charlie Verni, Jordan Luzzi, Jacob Flemister, Tyrell Bennett, William Bloom, and Jacob Flemister.
