T-BOLTS Fight For 12-0 Victory 9/14/08
The T-Bolts opened their home season on Sunday against another tough Valley Cottage Indoan team. The T-bolts evened their record after regrouping from dropping a close game last week to North Rockland.
The crowd was awakened when these two teams began the game to the sound of hard hits. T-Bolts Bryson Hayes, Tyler Fernandez, Rakim Parker and Jonathan Yudell helped the T-Bolt defense hold Valley Cottage's fast and deep backfield from breaking away.
The T-bolts ran down the clock and kept the ball away from Valley Cottage in the first half with strong runs by Jonathan Forrest, CJ Anthony, Kiemon Barrow, and Ryan Gil. In the second quarter, halfback Damarcus Miller took matters into his own hands by following a Brandon Trotta block for a 22 yard touchdown. After a Valley Cottage turnover, the T-bolts went into their two-minute offense and drove downfield once again. The last play of the half saw quarterback Tyler Fernandez pass to receiver Antoine Lewis who caught the tipped pass but was tackled on the one yard line to end the half.
The second half saw the T-bolts slowly wear down the Indians as multiple turnovers by Valley Cottage gave the T-bolts good field position. A Tyler Fernandez to Damarcus Miller pass for a 35 yard touchdown put the T-bolts ahead to stay at 12-0.
Other T-bolts who played well were Charlie Verni, Jordan Luzzi, Jacob Flemister, Jahari Ferrell, Spender Pressley and Ty-quan Adams.
