T-Boltsand Valley Cottage Battle to 0-0 Tie
9/13/09
The T-bolts returned to Fosina field on Sunday versus the Valley Cottage Indians and the two teams battled to a 0-0 tie.
The first half was a well played game of field position as neither team allowed the other a scoring opportunity, and the two teams went into the Halftime tied at 0-0. In the second half the T-bolts began to threaten. Jordan Davis intercepted a Valley Cottage pass and returned it to the Indian 44 yard line. However, the T-bolts offense would be held and they would punt the ball away.
The fourth quarter Jordan Davis offered the T-bolts another scoring opportunity, returning a Valley Cottage punt forty yards to the Indian twenty yard line. But the play was called back due to a penalty.
The T-bolts offense would get the ball back with under three minutes left in the game, Quarterback Danny Pistolesi dropped back to pass but he was sacked by the Valley Cottage defense on first down and a second down pass to Antoine Lewis fell incomplete. A Vaughn Howard third down run would give the T-bolts a chance at the first down, but the Valley Cottage defense intercepted the fourth down pass attempt.
Valley Cottage put together a drive in the final minutes inside of the T-bolt 40 yard line, but were turned away by a fourth down Dean Tommarello pass deflection.
In a 0-0 tie game many T-bolt defenders played well. The defense was lead by the penetration of Marquez Jackson-Allen, Kobe Gathers, Rashan Gilmore, Gregory Powell, Gavin Nelson, Gabriel Perez, Isaiah Washington, and Myson Robinson.
Other T-bolts who played well included Marcus Wallace, Mike Davis, Jeremiah Harris, Bryce Davis, Steavenson Fernand, Kasiem Mann, Haitam Coughlin, Dwayne White-Edney, Antoine Lewis, and Daniel Williams.
