T-BOLTS Fall 13-8 in Season Opener9/7/08
The T-Bolts traveled to North Rockland on 9/7/08 and were handed a tough fought 13-8 loss. This was due to be a tough battle as players on the T-Bolts and North Rockland have moved up in age group together and previous games between them have been close.
North Rockland jumped to an early lead on the first drive when in three plays they were able to score thanks to two long runs within the first minute. North Rockland quickly held a 6-0 lead. The T-bolts were unable to move the football on offense and returned possession to the Red Raiders on downs. It seemed teh Red raiders had momentum as they again began marching downfield. Jevon Taylor was able to stop the Red Raider attack with an interception deep in T-Bolt terrirtory to stop the Red Raider momentum.
Strong running by CJ Anthony, Kiemon Barrow and Tyler Fernandez set up a short pass by Fernandez to Damarcus Miller. Miller raced 70 yards to the end-zone for a touchdown. However the touchdown was called back due to a penalty on the T-Bolts.
The teams played a scoreless third quarter as T-Bolt turnovers hurt them moving the football. With the game winding down T-bolt cornerback Bryson hayes took matters into his own hands by stripping a running back on the run and racing to the Red raider 25 yard line with the football. Quarterback Tyler Fernandez quickly took advantage by throwing a quick pass to reciever Antoine Lewis for the tying score.
With less than two minutes in the game North Rockland pitched the to their best running back who ran towards teh left sideline and was able to outrun the T-bolts to the corner and turn upfield for a 55 yard game winning score.
Other T-bolts who played well were Rakim Parker, CJ Anthony, Jonathan Forrest, Nasir Shelton, Charlie Verni, Jonathan Yudell and Brandon Trotta.
