RAVENS Grounded In Monroe-Woodbury
9/21/08

On Sunday 9/21/08 the Ravens faced a tough Monroe-Woodbury team and came away with a loss. Monroe-Woodbury jumped out to an early lead when they took their opening drive into the Raven end-zone.
The Ravens offense responded and drove the length of the field football with runs by Ray Miller and Romeo Holden. But once inside the Crusader ten yard line the Ravens fumbled the ball and the Crusaders recovered.

The Raven defense slowed down the Crusader attack for the remainder of the quarter with good defense by Christian Ancrum, Nt-quel Fields, Christopher Hurst, and Anthony Albright.,

In the second quarter the Ravens offense was pinned back near their goal line and fumbled the ball to the Crusaders. Monroe-Woodbury scored from there and converted their second extra point kick for a 14-0 lead.

The Raven offense was unable to move the ball consistently and gave the Crusaders good field position. The Crusaders added a 28 yard touchdown to extend the lead. Ray Miller attempted to help the ravens mount a comeback with a defensive interception, but once again the Ravens fumbled the ball back to the Crusader defense.

Other Ravens who played well were Corey Thomas, Hassan Mabrouk, Kevin Brickle, Peyton Bean, Kobe Simpson, Miles Taylor, Jay-Cee Miller, Shawn Gilcrest, Charles Gay, Hezikiah Brown and Dalton Olson.

The Ravens have a bye-week this week and return to action on October 5 against Eastchester 2.
