Ravens Defeat Eastchester 22-0

11/07/10

On Sunday, the Ravens and Eastchester played a Mitey-mite game under the lights. After a slow start, the Ravens pulled away with a convincing 22-0 victory.

On its first possession Eastchester drove within the Ravens 25 yard line but the Raven defense stopped the drive on downs. On offense, Raven Marcquis Kinyon then burst up-field to the 45 yard line. After a few short runs, Lonnie Jones completed the Raven drive with a 40 yard touchdown run around left end for the 6-0 Raven lead (xp run no good). After another Raven defensive stand the Ravens offense got the ball back. They quickly advanced to inside of the Blue Devil 20 yard line before a fumble halted the drive. The teams then went into the half with a the Ravens leading 6-0.

The Ravens came out in the second half and quickly moved the ball. Damon Alleyne ran 25 yards and Raymond Dixon followed up with a 20 yard touchdown run. The Raymond Dixon extra point kick was good and the Raven lead increased to 14-0. The Ravens defense stood out all day as Lance Anthony, Zachary Wallace, Antonee Abraham, Kobe Simpson and Jalen Taylor provided plays to help the shutoout effort.

On the next Eastchester possession the Ravens defense recovered a Blue Devil fumble. Aaron Cadle, Lonnie Jones and Marcquis Kinyon running advanced the ball to the Blue Devil five yard line. However, the Eastchester defense held the Ravens on four downs and got the ball back. The Blue Devils then completed passes that positioned them on the 35 yard line before the Ravens defense stiffened again and got the ball back.

Raymond Dixon then took over with 3 consecutive runs that put the ball on the 2 yard line. Dixon then plunged in for the touchdown. Dixon's extra point kick ended the game scoring at 22-0.

Other Ravens who played well included Nicholas Oppedisano, Christian Di Zenzo, Ethan Ortiz, Anthony Paul, Hugo Salazar, Kollin Francis, Dheaven Stewart, Gavin Perez, Daryl Staples, Dezmond Fredericks, Nicholas Rivera, Mekhi Simpson, Shawn Harris, and Keanu Powell.
