LIONS Win Close Game 6-0 9/9/07
For the second week of the season the Jr. Pee Wee Lions were able to shutout their opponent. But penalties, miscues and turnovers by the Lions contributed to this game against Orangetown being close.
The Lions received the kickoff and proceeded to march down the field behind the strong runs of Demarcus Miller(27), Bryson Hayes(21) and Danny Pistolesi(12). Miller(27) eventually broke free behind the blocks of Akel Walker(52) and Charlie Verni(58) for a 25 yard touchdown. This touchdown was the only score of the game. For the remainder of the game the Lions moved the football but were unable to score. In the second half Dean Tomarello(16) made the defensive play of the game when he tracked down a Orangetown ballcarrier who had broken free for what could have been the tying score. Other defenders who contributed to the Lion shutout were Tyler Fernandez(2)(interception), Devonte Banner(24) and Bryson Hayes(21), with multiple stops.
