The Purple Wave Junior Pee Wee’s traveled to Baltimore Maryland over the Thanksgiving Day weekend and after a delay and change of teams, pulled out a 20-0 win versus the Ravens of Baltimore.
The Purple Wave defense started fast with Shawn Gilchrist, Aaron Cadle, Drew and Jake Tommarello leading the way.
Jordan Forrest started the scoring with a 35 yard sprint into the end-zone behind Kenny Torain and Kristen Lewis blocking. However, the touchdown was called back due to holding by the Purple Wave. The Purple Wave offense would reset and continue to drive with the help of Steffen Fernand runs. Fernand would end the drive with a quarterback sneak behind the block of Daron Long and Morgan Paul. Jamal Dallas blasted into the end-zone for the 7-0 lead.
With less than four minutes in the second quarter Antonee Abraham took the handoff from quarterback Jaylin Mcghee and followed Jaiden Brickle and Kevin Gay blocking around left end. Abraham spun at the 15 yard line to avoid a tackle and took it into the end-zone to complete the 40 yard touchdown run. Jamal Dallas would bull his way into the end-zone for his second extra point run of the day for a 14-0 Purple Wave lead at halftime.
The teams battled in the third quarter evenly until a punt by Jaylin Mcghee was fumbled by the Ravens and recovered by Corey Baron after a tackle by Mikey Williams, Jake Tommarello and Kenny Torain. Joel Cooper then took matters into his own hands on offense and sprinted around right end behind Aaron Cadle, Logan Padgett and Lucas Padgett blocking for a 40 yard touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, quarterback Michael Coughlin, runners Shawn Harris, Lance Anthony, Corey Baron and Shawn Gilchrist ran out the clock with short runs to seal the 20-0 Purple Wave win.
