New Rochelle YTL Frequently Asked

Questions and Answers.
How can I have a banner placed at Joseph Fosina Stadium?

To have a banner supporting NRYTL placed at the stadium, please send us an e-mail or inquire in person during practice hours.
If you inquire by e-mail someone will get back to you with specifications and cost as soon as possible.
Where can I buy NRYTL merchandise?

A private vendor supplies NRYTL merchandise. You can have your custom NRYTL support merchandise made at
Rainbow Embroidery in New Rochelle by contacting them directly. We endorse Rainbow Embroidery due to their
support of NRYTL over the years.
Can I have the T-bolts phone number?
Teams do not have private Telephone numbers. If your son or daughter is on a team,
the head coach will provide ways that he may be contacted, if necessary.
My son will be 15 in September. Do you have a team for his age?

At this time our oldest team is the Jr. Midget Team. You must be no more than 13 before August
1st of the season you wish to participate and of qualifying over-light weight to participate on this team.
Can I coach if there is room for assistant coaches?
Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches must be certified each off-season, including background checks and possible
CPR certification. Please inquire about off-season coaches meetings through NRYTL.com to become a coach.
We vacation during the first 2 weeks in August, how will that affect my son participating?
Your child can still participate if he has been registered, had his physical and had all necessary paperwork turned in.
However, participants, especially first-time players, may have difficulty catching up when they return in terms of conditioning,
learning plays and other aspects of football that is taught in the first two weeks.
My son is 9 years old. Can he play for the T-bolts?
It is recommended that he play with his age group on either the Mitey-Mite team or the Jr. Pee Wee team.
The only instances of a 9 year old playing with the T-bolts may be due to the weight of child.
Does the Youth Tackle games conflict with the travel Youth Soccer games?
NRYTL does not coordinate scheduling with other Youth Sports programs. We generally play games on Saturdays
and Sundays. Each Head Coach has their own team rules but it is not recommended for participants to miss excessive
practices, as they may not be eligible for game participation.
My son is seven years old, is it our choice whether he does flag or contact football?

7 year olds are placed on tackle teams (Mitey-Mite level).
My grandson is 6 years old. Is he old enough to join the youth tackle league this summer?
Yes, he will be eligible for Flag (non-contact) participation.
How can I submit pictures of some historic days of YTL for this website?
Please submit articles and photos that document NRYTL’s history to contact@nrytl.com

Please advise me of the practice and game schedule.
NRYTL begins practice Aug 1 of each season. We generally practice everyday M-F 5pm-7pm and some teams may practice Saturdays also.
Once school begins for the kids we practice 3 times a week (and possibly Saturday morning).
Flag games are held on Saturdays and Tackle games predominantly on Sundays throughout the season.
What registration cover? Just a two-week camp or more?

Registration is for the entire season. Our season runs from August through Thanksgiving.

My son is 10 years old and never played on a formal football team. Is there a
camp you can suggest that he can participate in or will the practice sessions help him to catch up to the players who have been playing a while?
Ultimately, there is no substitute for learning tackle football except by playing. All players are taught the basics every year
and they are reinforced in practice throughout the season. In terms of how quickly a new player learns and is
able to produce on the field varies with each player.

We are not affiliated with any camps. Instructional videos that teaches blocking and tackling technique might be helpful.
I am looking for football for my 7 yr old. What is your weight and age policy? You can review our teams age/weight restrictions to determine where you son would play at www.nrytl.com/teams.html
Keep in mind that his age group is based on how old he will be ON August 1st.
Where do you normally play your games.

We play our home games at Joseph Fosina Field (City Park) on 5th Avenue in New Rochelle.
Away games are opponent dependent.
