Chiefs Over Orangetown 13-0
11/01/09
Two weeks after facing Orangetown in a close loss the Chiefs traveled to face the Patriots once again on 11/1. It was another hard-hitting, closely fought game, but this time the Chiefs shutdown the Patriot offense in the 13-0 win.
The Chiefs didn’t start the game well with a lost offensive fumble on the first play from scrimmage. However, from the start it was clear the Chiefs defense came to play as Jonathan Yudell, 14, Bryson Hayes, and Rakim Parker forced the Patriots to punt. The Chiefs then blocked the Patriot punt attempt and recovered the ball on their 45 yard line.
On the next offensive play from scrimmage, tailback Jonathan Forrest raced for a 55 yard touchdown to give the Chiefs a 6-0 lead.
After a change of possession the Chief offense was lead downfield by the running of Rakim Parker. Jordan Luzzi, Tyrell Bennett, William Bloom and Jordan Lawrence handled opening the holes for Parker. A Forrest run put the ball on the Patriot 15 yard line. From there quarterback Keimon Barrow completed a 15 yard touchdown pass to Javon Taylor. After the Forrest extra point run the Chiefs lead 13-0.
In the second half the Chiefs offense was unable to increase the lead but their defense turned up the intensity. Keimon Barrow would intercept his second pass of the day to give the Chiefs the ball at the Orangetown 35 yard line. On another Orangetown possession, a tackle by Bryson Hayes and Jonathan Forrest lead to a fumble recovery by Chief Jordan Lawrence. Another Orangetown possession was ended when defensive pass pressure by 94, and Jordan Luzzi caused a fumble that was recovered by 40 on the Patriot 35 yard line. Running back Rakim Parker then ran out the clock to end the game at 13-0, Chiefs.
Chiefs who played well included, Michael White, Ishmale Ben-Ruben, Jahair Thompson, Max Moore, Devin Delapaz, Kyler Callands, Zachary Sweetland, Demarie Ralliford, Lovell Major, Demetrius Rodirguez, Ameir Lewis, and Devin Delapaz.
