ChiefS Defeat New City 20-12 10/05/08
The game started off with new city driving down the field, but the Chief defense ended it with an interception by Beinson Bracey, who had two interceptions in this hard fought game.
The Chief offense then went down the field and quarterback Joe Clarke threw a thirty yard touchdown pass to Bracey. Clarke also passed to Bracey for the extra point.
New City came back on offense and one of their backs broke free for a long touchdown run. the extra point kick was blocked by Joe Clarke. On the next Chief offensive series Malik Smith scored, following a great block by Gavin Harley to put the Chiefs ahead 13-6.
New City answered back with another offensive touchdown, but the extra point was stopped by the Chiefs and the Chiefs lead 13-12 at the half. the second half saw both teams battle for field position and the game turned into a defensive struggle.
The Chief break came late in the fourth quarter when defensive end Joe Clarke duplicated a play he made in 2005 ( Lions against Mount Vernon). Clarke sacked the quarterback, causing a fumble, which he recovered and returned 70 yards for the touchdown. This paly put the Chiefs ahead for good 20-12.
Chiefs who played well include Donovan Powell, Gavin harley, Tyreik Kerr, Sam Schwarz, Armani Parker, Max Moor, Lovell Major, Corey Holder, Arron Freeze, and Anthony Battle.
