Chiefs Win 13-6 Over New City 9/2/07 After suffering a tough 2006 Regional Playoff loss the 2007 Chiefs look to make another run at the RCPWL Jr. Midget Championship. If the first game is any indication, then the 2007 Chiefs are definite contenders. While facing a New City team that has many of the same players who moved up from their 2006 Regional playoff team, the Chiefs showed they are up to the
challenge.
New City came out and attacked the Chiefs defense, driving the ball to the one yard line. The Chiefs defense stiffened and caused a fumble. However, New City caused a Chief turnover on the next play and their offense scored. The teams traded field position until Chiefs running back Exander Rosado(2) blast off left tackle for a 35 yard touchdown in the second quarter. Halfback Jordan Frenza (1) added the extra point with a leap over the head of a standing defender. New City was able to move the football but did not come close to scoring again thanks to the strong defense led by Khalil Edney(7), Rashaan Davis(9), Ray Ganley(19), Paul Verni(75) and John Luke Bogue(40). In the second half, quarterback Edney(7) threw a 10 yard touchdown pass to Frenza(1) to complete the scoring.
