Broncos Buck North Rockland 9/23/07
The Broncos traveled to North Rockland to face their II team on Sunday and came away with a strong victory. The Broncos wasted no time as Jalen Young(15) darted 50 yards through the Red Raider defense on the first series. Young (15), capped off the drive with a 15 yard sprint for the Broncos first score, before adding the extra point as well.
The first series and Youngs runs were contributed to blocking of the entire unit including, Kobe Gathers(21), Luke Clifford(80), Haitam Coughlin(10), Marlon Cherry(14), Miles Harvey(62), Zachery Lyttle(18), Nigel Bailey(12), and Kyree Griffin(70). The Bronco B team defense then came in to hold off the Red Raiders scoring threat in the second quarter. Jordan Lewis(24), Jarrett Haines(17), Makai Johnson(34), and Jordan Forrest(40) helped hold the Red Raiders scoreless for the remainder of the half.
The Red Raiders responded in the beginning of the second half with a 60 yard scoring run, closing the score. Marcus Wallace(16) intercepted the extra point attempt to keep the Broncos ahead by one point. The Broncos then went to work on offense, featuring the running of Gregory Powell(9) who had an outstanding 60 yard run up the middle of the defense in which he ran through multiple defenders before being tripped up at the ten yard line.
Young(15) then scored on his second touchdown of the day, with Kobae Gathers(21) adding the extra point. From there the Broncos played tough defense which resulted in good field position for the offense. A Jalen Young (15) to Marlon Cherry(14) pass, catch and run led to a Kobe Gathers(21) touchdown run around left end and the final scoring.
