Broncos Fall to Eastchester In Season Final 11/11/07
The Broncos headed to Eastchester this past Sunday for the last game of the season and could defeat the Blue Devils. These two teams played earlier in the season when the Broncos fell behind, but fought back in an exciting loss.
In Sundays's game the Broncos defense was led by the good play of Gregory Powell(9) and Makai Johnson(34). But Eastchester was able to drive the ball downfield for an opening touchdown and kick. Bronco quarterback Jalen Young(15) led the offense downfield with the help of Powell(9) and the blocking by Amahri Ragin(50), Ryan Love(22), Clifford Luke(80), and Harvey Miles(62). However, the Broncos were unable to score. The Broncos defense, led by Marcus Wallace(16), Zachary Lyttle(18) and Kobe Gathers(21), played tough in the second quarter but Eastchester was able to add another score to extend the lead before halftime.
The third quarter saw the two teams fighting for field position, until an Eastchester runner broke free for a long touchdown run. The Broncos fought back until the end of the game but their attempt at another comeback was stalled by penalties and turnovers, including an interception on their last offensive drive.
Other Broncos who played well in this game were Daniel Williams(90), Benjamin Peters(65), Chris Wallace(57), Nigel Bailey(12), Jarrett Haines(17), Nasheim Hiland(42), Jordan Forrest(40), Jordan Lewis(24) and Nathan Harrison(20).
Congratulations to all of the Broncos who completed their first season of tackle football.
