T-Bolts Fall 18-0 in Bowl game: Finish 9-2 on the season
11/27/10
Summary
Thanksgiving weekend saw the T-bolts travel to Baltimore to face the Stronghold Chargers in a Pee Wee divisional matchup. The game was billed as the showdown of the 'lightning bolt teams". The T-bolts were held offensively most of the game and the Chargers slowly pulled away to secure a 18-0 win.
The Chargers had offensive possession first and began to move the ball well but the defense of Steavenson Fernand, Khairi Manns, Ryan Love, Luke Clifford, Joshua Watts, Jared Baron and Corbin Acree forced the Chargers punt. The Chargers punt pinned the T-bolts deep in their own territory. Running by quarterback D'Wayne White-Edney, Carlton Naughton and Zachary Lyttle helped move the ball but the T-bolts were forced to punt.
With a wind-chill of below 0 and sporadic gusts of wind on the day, the T-bolt 4th down punt snap sailed over punter White-Edney's head and the Chargers took possession at the T-bolt ten yard line. The Chargers advanced to within the 5 yard line before the T-bolt defense of Nasheim Hiland, Daniel Williams, Gabriel Perez and Marlon Gardner combined to cause a fumble that was recovered by the T-bolts.
However, the T-bolts were once again 95 yards from the end-zone and in bad field position. After punting the ball back to the Chargers, the Chargers took advantage of the short field and scored their first touchdown. Marlon Gardner colected a pass from quarterback D'Wayne White-Edney and sprinted into the end-zone, however the touchdown was called back. For the remainder of the game, the T-bolts offense were unable to mount a drive deep into Charger territiory thanks to turnovers and the Chargers would add two more scores in the game for the 18-0 victory.
Other T-bolts who played well were Shawn Bowman, Victoria Alleyne, Damani Powell, Audan Martinez, Rashan Sullins, Tyree Brewton, Jose Nunez, Ahmad Galimore, Jeremiah Harris, Najee Bass, DeQuavias Lewis and Makai Johnson.
