Chiefs Comeback and Win 14-13 In Bowl game
11/27/10
Game Summary
The NRYTL Chiefs traveled on Thanksgiving weekend to participate in the Maryland State Turkey Bowl Classic. The Chiefs took on the Northeast Chargers of Maryland in the Jr. Midget division.
Defensively, the Chiefs were lead by Marquez Jackson-Allen, Kobe Gathers, Gregory Powell, Myson Robinson and Haitam Coughlin. The two teams battled the elements of cold and wind-chill as the Chargers would capitalize on good field position and take a 7-0 lead. The running of Marquez Jackson-Allen and Charlie Anthony moved the ball on the ground while quarterback Gregory Powell passed to Bryce Davis and Haitam Coughlin.
Jackson-Allen would pull the Chiefs into a 7-7 tie with a touchdown in the game. The Chiefs offense was assisted by the blocking of Gavin Nelson, Kalif Cox, and Habib Dixon-King who created running lanes for Jackson-Allen and Anthony. Late in the game with the Chargers leading 13-7, the Chiefs comeback win was punctuated by a Charlie Anthony touchdown run after a Chiefs fumble recovery in Charger territory for the 14-13 win.
Other Chiefs who played well included, Vaughn Howard, Jeremiah Harris, Michael Fabiano, Elijah McCrary, Spencer Pressley and Jordan Skelton. The Chiefs end the season with a 7-3 record in 2010.
